Valuing the disabled

Have you noticed that you don't see as many disabled and Down Syndrome children that you used to? Well if you have noticed that is because there simply aren't as many around. Why? With the growth of pre-natal testing, doctors, and in turn mothers are being encouraged to abort pregnancies in which the child may be born with such a disability. This is modern day eugenics, it is the same sort of race cleansing that the Nazi's were involved in, it shocked the world after WWII but it has reappeared under the questionable umbrella of 'family planning'.

This week many people are celebrating World Down Syndrome Day. It's a good opportunity to ponder the new eugenics of trying to eliminate all disabled people before they are born. Jenny Bockerstette, mother of a Down Syndrome child, has written a short but touching piece for the occasion on MercatorNet which you may like to read here.
