A few hours ago in Rome the Pope began the Sacred Easter Triduum with the Mass of the Lord's Supper and the Washing of the feet as seen above.
At his general audience earlier in the week he spoke of the value of the ceremonies of this week and the fact that they are more than just commemorations of a past event.
