For those of you who don't know Pope Benedict XVI has released his first book written as Pope and he has chosen his topic to be - perhaps not surpringly - Jesus.
His attempt has been to salvage the person of Jesus from recent “popular” depictions (such as the DaVinci Code) and to restore Jesus’ true identity as discovered in the Gospels. The Pope is a brilliant theologian and his personal search for the God Man Jesus the Christ should be a very interesting read.
The book is selling extremely well...in its first month of release 1.5 million copies have been sold and it is currently been translated into 30 languages. On Amazon.com his book reached a peak of been the 18th best seller which is pretty impressive considering they must list hundred of thousands of books.
Consider getting your hands on a copy, I know I will. We had 10 come into the shop last week but they all were gone in an hour. I'll have to get into the next delivery.
